At Select Cremations, we offer two thoughtfully structured packages to suit different needs. Our Essentials Package provides a simple and dignified option covering all the essentials for an unattended cremation. For families seeking more involvement, our Enhanced Package includes additional services such as a private viewing, and the flexibility to add personal touches like urn selection or other optional extras.

Essentials Package $2865
Our Essentials Package is designed to provide all the necessary services for a straightforward and respectful cremation at an affordable price. This package includes the following items:

Initial transfer of your loved one into our care

Simple coffin suitable for unattended cremation

Certificate of Registered Medical Practitioner authorising cremation (if required)

Enhanced Package $3765
Our Enhanced Package offers additional services such as a private viewing, and the flexibility to include personal touches, providing a more tailored experience. This package includes the following items:

Initial transfer of your loved one into our care

Our Select Simple Veneer coffin is included, however you have the option to choose from our entire coffin and casket range. (see Optional Extras section below)

Private viewing for you, your family and close friends (max 25 people) for up to 45 minutes in a private space at one of the five crematoriums listed below (Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, booking time subject to availability)

Optional Extras
Our Optional Extras are available to families who have selected the Enhanced Package only. Items that can be selected include:

Flowers - Either an upright floral arrangement as room decoration, or a casket sheaf to decorate the coffin. Prices range depending on your selection with the standard options generally between $55 and $440

Memorial Cards - Either postcard style or bookmark style cards available. Double-sided, full-colour, high quality individually designed memorial cards starting at 50 copies for $125

Coffin Upgrade - While the included Select Simple Veneer coffin is a tasteful and dignified option, some families prefer to select an alternative that better reflects their loved one's style. If you choose to upgrade, the additional cost will simply be the difference between the retail price of your chosen coffin and that of the Select Simple Veneer coffin. Our digital brochure including upgrade fees is available upon request to help you make an informed decision.

Urn - Some families would like to purchase a special urn or a scattering urn from our range- a digital catalogue is available upon request. The typical price range is between $200 and $500

Many families choose direct cremation so they can hold a memorial, celebration of life, or scattering ceremony at a time and place that feels meaningful to them. This flexibility is one of the key benefits of direct cremation.
Once all documentation is complete and approvals are in place, the cremation is typically carried out within 3-7 business days. If there are specific time sensitivities for families, they are always welcome to let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate.
Yes, while our Essentials Package is designed for simplicity, our Enhanced Package allows for personalisation, including private viewing, flowers, or selecting coffin or a special urn. These options ensure that families have the flexibility to make choices that feel right for them.
We work exclusively with Melbourne crematoriums, including Lilydale, Springvale, Bunurong, Altona, and Fawkner. You are able to choose which of those crematoriums you prefer your loved one to be cremated at. Your loved one will remain in Melbourne in our care throughout the entire process. We do not entrust our care responsibilities to third parties. We do not have people's loved ones transported to regional Victoria or interstate to maximise profit as many other providers of direct cremation services do.
Absolutely. We understand that some families prefer in-person consultations. If meeting face-to-face is more comfortable for you, we are happy to arrange a time to come to your home or another convenient location for you.
You will need to provide some information and documentation, including family details for registration with Births, Deaths & Marriages Victoria, your identification, and your signature on the cremation authorisation forms and our service agreement. If desired, you may also provide clothing for your loved one to be dressed in.

Direct cremation generally has a smaller environmental impact compared to traditional burials, as it doesn’t involve embalming or large land use. If you have specific concerns about environmental practices, feel free to discuss them with us

Payment is required prior to the cremation. We accept cash, bank cheques, or EFT. At this time, we do not accept credit cards or offer payment plans, as we have ethical concerns about the suitability of these payment methods for funeral services.
